The ingredients of this game are adventure, discovery, and excitement. You are about to embark in the voyage of your life. With Poker Pop you will be playing your way around the globe. You’ll be at fifty cities in five different countries, collecting postcards and souvenirs along the way. Have a good trip!
The game offers three modes to play it. The basic description of each is presented below:
Tour Mode: You have to create poker hands by selecting from 2 to 5 connected cards. When you’ve made a hand, click on the play button. You’ll keep playing until all the required hands have been cleared and the postcard has been revealed.
Challenge Mode: You have to create poker hands by selecting 5 connected cards. When you’ve made a hand, click on the play button. You’ll keep playing until all the required hands have been cleared and the postcard has been revealed.
Arcade Mode: You have to create poker hands by selecting from 2 to 5 connected cards. When you’ve made a hand, click on the play button. You’ll keep playing until all the required hands have been cleared and the postcard has been revealed.
There are several types of bonuses:
• Doubler: multiplies the total score of the hand by 2.
• Tripler: multiplies the total score of the hand by 3.
• Free Card: allows this card to be included in a hand even if it isn’t next to the other selected cards.
• Neutralizer: removes the effect of any score-reducing peril in the hand.
There are several “power-ups” for you to take advantage from, let’s take a look at them:
• Organize: rearranges cards by rank with the highest-ranking cards in the upper left and the lowest-ranking ones in the bottom right.
• Straight: rearranges cards into numerical order, making it easier to get straights.
• Flush: rearranges cards by suits, making it easier to get flushes.
• Pairs & Kinds: rearranges cards first by 4 of a kinds, then by 3 of a kinds, then by pairs. Jokers will be placed to make it easier to get 5 of a kinds.
• Exterminator: removes all perils from the board.
• Free card maker: allows you to turn any card on the board into a free card.
You have to watch out the several perils of the game. Let’s know a bit about them:
• Halver: divides the total score of the hand by 2.
• Thirder: divides the total score of the hand by 3.
• Pair blocker: makes any pairs in the hand useless.
• Level resetter: when its timer goes off, you lose everything you had collected on that level.
• Smoker: if this card reaches the bottom row, you’ll have to restart this city.
• Burner: If this card reaches the bottom row, you’ll have to restart this city.
• Freezer: when its timer goes off, it temporarily freezes itself and all neighbors so they can’t be used.
So let’s take a look to the hands you want to get in order to win the game (not useful for people who know how to play Poker):
• Pair: two cards of the same value.
• Two pair: two cards of one value along with two cards of another.
• 3 of a kind: three cards of the same value.
• Straight: five cards in sequence, not of the same suit.
• Flush: any five cards of the same suit, not in sequence.
• Full house: a 5-card hand consisting of 3 cards of one value, and 2 cards of another.
• 4 of a kind: four cards of the same value.
• Straight flush: any five-card sequence in the same suit.
• Royal flush: an ace, king, queen, jack, and 10, all of the same suit.
• 5 of a kind: five cards of the same value, this is the highest possible hand, and only obtainable with a wild card.
